I’m currently patching together Miss M&M’s first birthday party. It’s happening one year from my (her?) due date. Which was exactly one year after I got my IUD removed. Whoa.
And I realized there’s a lot to be thankful for in those anniversaries.
I’m thankful for reproductive freedom and my own privilege in accessing it. I’m thankful for my fertility and the ease with which I’ve gotten pregnant. I’m thankful for my body’s ability stay pregnant, to carry babies full term, nurture and nourish a bitty baby as she grows to a bumbling and cheerful destroyer.
I’m thankful I have a little one quickly approaching the one year mark. I’m thankful she was born into a happy and healthy situation and that she is thriving. I’m thankful we’ve [almost] made it through our first year as a foursome!
I’m thankful we can toy around with the thought of another–even if it’s just my one-year postpartum hormones
This post is part of a month-long series detailing 25 Things I’m Thankful For.
