This November, despite (or maybe because of?) any current trials, I want to really take some time and space to acknowledge the plethora of people, places, experiences, opportunities, truths and, yes, things that I am thankful for. My goal is for near-daily posts throughout the month. We will see how I do 😉
I would like to start by recognizing all that allows me to have, and maintain, a blog for such purposes in the first place.
I’m thankful for freedom of speech in the country where I was born a citizen.
I’m thankful for internet access, unregulated (mostly) and unencumbered, at home and on-the-go.
I’m thankful for a tech-savvy husband who helps when issues veer out of my limited realm.
I’m thankful for a public school education that encouraged my interest in writing and a [few] college experiences that impassioned me to feel I had something to write about.
I’m thankful for my place in a generation that grew up with the internet–I’ve been “blogging” since the Livejournal days almost twelve years ago!
I’m thankful for the privilege I have that allows me time for non-essential pursuits. I’m thankful for the privilege I have that allows me to feel worthy of being heard. I’m thankful for the privilege I have that allows others to listen.
I’m thankful for this space where I ‘m free to be me (or the virtual guise of that), for the forum is provides and the feedback I’ve received.
If you’re reading this, I’m thankful for you.
