My schedule: the best of both worlds?

This term (and continuing through the academic year) I am doing an internship (16 weekly hours), taking classes (7 credit hours) and being mom, wife, chef, chauffeur, house cleaner extraordinaire and hopefully person. This actually looks worse than it is because, by work and by luck, I’ve managed the best possible schedule for my situation.

For the most part I spend five days (and nights) each week with M&M. I get less time with Dot than I’d like (she is cared for four days each week) but without two days home with only M I’d never get homework or housework (not to mention blogging) done in a sane and timely manner. Thank God for nap times. And amazing childcare.

And Thank Whomever[Whatever] for the schedule I’ve been blessed with. Thank you to my two lady friends who didn’t stop until I got into the classes I needed to be in. Thank you to Tony who handles the house and children two consecutive nights each week (and does so handily I might add!) so I can have that extra day at home with my baby.

I’m thankful we seem to be making it through. I’m thankful I think I/we can do this. I’m thankful I’m still a SAH[mostly]M. I’m thankful I’m able to “get out” regularly. I get to chase my dreams. I get to make a difference. I get to learn and be more than Mommy (which is huge for me). I’m thankful for foresight I had to do what I had to do (everything from meetings, to petitions, to taking Statistics six weeks postpartum, to family planning in the first place) to make a busy year run as smoothly as possible. I’m thankful for the numerous times I’ve been able to roll with the punches.

And again, of course, always…I’m thankful for quiet weekends.

This post is part of a month-long series detailing 25 Things I’m Thankful For.
